This 1-Day Certification Program will overview key challenges encountered by leaders and staff members practicing in the long-term and post-acute care environment to care for residents with dementia; a population prevalent within Skilled Nursing Facilities. With more than 5 million adults in the U.S. affected by dementia, behavioral issues can become too extreme to manage within a home setting, therefore families often seek help from long-term care facilities. Health Care Leaders and Clinical Teams are challenged to meet the complex needs of the residents and family members. Key issues surround communication and behavioral dyscontrol. The speakers will focus on Trends, Treatments, Interventions, Communication, Behavioral Strategies and Integration of Dementia Care with QAPI.
Recommended Audience:
Leadership team members and clinical staff in long term care or any post-acute environment
Goal
